Accessibility Statement for Brighstone Parish Council Website
This website is run by Brighstone Parish Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use our website.
How Accessible
Our website includes accessibility tools to resize text, change to greyscale, alter contrast, underline all links and select a readable font. The website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA.
Known Issues (non compliance)
The search box has insufficient colour contrast and a missing label
Navigation using speech recognition has not been tested
Navigation using keyboard only has not been fully tested
How Website Was Tested
We have carried out a self-assessment making use of the evaluation tool ‘Insights for Web’
We have checked that information is provided as text and not just an image containing text.
Images have been given text alternatives that state what they show.
Hyperlinks have been altered to make sense out of context and be more useful with screen readers.

This statement was first drafted on 18th August 2020 and was last updated 13th September 2020
Further work is being done on keyboard navigation and speech recognition.
