On Saturday, 27th May 2017 from 2pm, a new local walk called “The Fox Trail” will be launched in Brighstone.
All are welcome to join in. Meet outside the Three Bishops just before 2pm to enjoy a stroll around the village and down to the beach to explore the interesting life and work of Rev. William Fox.
Representatives from the Natural HIstory Museum in London are in Brighstone over this weekend and are focusing on the life and work of “Britaun’s greatest Dinosaur Hunter”.
Their interest is in Rev. Fox who lived in North Street in the 19th century, worked in the parish of Saint Mary’s Church and hunted for dinosaur fossils on the local beaches.
On Friday 26th a lecture will be given at the Wilberforce Hall by Prof. Paul Barrett from the Natural History Museum on the same subject. Entrance is free but places must be booked in advance by ringing 404344.
